Stories about Ollie

Living Life

By Bonnie Mohr

Life is not a race - but indeed a journey.

Be honest.  Work Hard.  Bechoosy.  Say "thank you",

"I love you", and "great job" to someone each day.

Go to church, take time for prayer.  The Lord giveth and the

Lord taketh.  Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper.  Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental - search for your purpose and do it as best you can.  Dreaming does matter.  It allows you to become that which you inspire to be.  Laugh often.  Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them.  Some of the best things really are free.  Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming.  Forgive, it frees the soul.  Take time for yourself - plan for longevity.  Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know.

Live for today, enjoy the moment.

This is dedicated to my friend, Ollie Arnold.  This is how she lived her life!

Having worked closely with Ollie for almost 6 years, she became my second mom.  She had such a big heart and she was always there for anyone and everyone; all you had to do was ask.

The other day, my Mom was wrapping Lumpias and she asked me if I wanted to bring some to work.  My immediate response to her was "No, Ollie's not there anymore".  One of Ollie's favorite food was Lumpia  and she used to get so excited whenever I brought some to work.  She would ask me, "Ooh!  You have Lumpia?  Then she would be grinning from ear to ear and start doing her "Happy Dance".

Ollie was an amazing person and a truly great friend whom I will always remember!

A True Friend

by Susan Polis Schutz

There are many people that we meet in our lives, but only a very few will make a lasting impression on our minds and hearts.  it is these people that we will think of often and who will always remain important to us as true friends.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.

I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Phenomenal Woman

By Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.

I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.

I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.

I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
